5: ASEAN Scheme of Compulsory Motor Vehicle Insurance under ASEAN
framework
Agreement on Facilitation of Goods in Transit
- It was signed by Minister
for Finance & Revenue of Myanmar in Kuala Lumpur on 8-4-2001
- Instrument of Ratification
was signed & sent by Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 16-10-2003
to ASEAN
Secretariat
- Following preparations
have been done to implement it -
(a) Nominated Myanma Insurance
as National Bureau on 21-2-2002
(b) Third-Party Law
was amended on 2-5-2003 & distributed to members on 2-7-2003
(c) Myanmar National Bureaux's
Blue Card Scheme, Premium Rate Structures, Compensation amount
were presented at 5th Council of Bureaux in Manila on 20-9-2004.
(d) Inter Bureaux Agreement
was signed on 27th November 2005 at 6th COB in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
2. Financial Liberalization under ASEAN Framework Agreement
On Services (AFAS)
- Second Phrase - 6TH ASEAN
FINANCE MINISTERS' MEETING held in Yangon on 6-4-2002, Minister for
Finance & Revenue signed
the Agreement to liberalize Average & Loss Adjustment Services
- Third Phrase - Final offer
to Liberalize Actuarial Service was sent to ASEAN Secretariat on 9-7-2004
&
Deputy Minister for Finance
& Revenue of Myanmar signed the agreement in AFMM held in Laos
on
6-4-2005.
3. ASEAN Insurance Meetings
- Myanmar always attend following
regular meetings
(a) ASEAN Insurance Regulators'
Meetings(AIRM)
(b) Council of Bureaux Meetings(COB)
4. ASEAN Insurance Training & Research Institute (AITRI)
- MoU, Memorandum and Articles of Association were signed
& sent on 27-4-2004
- Managing Director of Myanma Insurance became First Director
